Tiny World game review: Not so Tiny after all

With so many games out there to try out in the world of blockchain gaming, it’s probably easier for the newcomer to check out one of these so-called Play to Earn (P2E) games.

We’re not entirely big fans of pure P2E for several reasons. Yes, they use blockchain tech, and yes, they do use NFT tech, but the issue of sustainability comes into question when games are built around a central idea of earning (hence attracting crypto speculators rather than crypto gamers).

Nevertheless, we can’t deny that P2E is popular and is driving interest in the current stage of blockchain gaming so, in this article, we explore one of the most popular NFT games called Tiny World.

The world of Tiny is surprisingly not tiny

Like options? Looking for a new game to explore? Well, then you’re in luck! Tiny World, a branch of the full game family, which includes the Tiny Kingdom and Tiny Dungeon games, as well as Tiny Farmer, is a new P2E game that has seen a boost in player count in recent months.

The game joins other highly active hubs on Binance Smart Chain, one of the growing venues for game deployment. Tiny Worlds trended recently, showing that new arrivals in the P2E space are still not giving up during the bear market.

Tiny World is a branch of a full game family, including the Tiny Kingdom and Tiny Dungeon games, as well as Tiny Farmer, the NFT-staking branch of the game. Tiny World thus combines adventures and quests with the potential for staking and receiving passive income.

The game also allows for item generation and an internal market. NFT can both be traded and staked in DeFi schemes.

How the Tiny World game works:

In this article we won’t review the DeFi or trading aspects of Tiny World, but we’ll talk about the game itself, which is called Tiny Kingdom.

Like most NFT games, it’s pretty much a straightforward process:

  1. Buy an NFT character called Tiny Heroes. You can do this at this link. Make sure you’ve got BUSD (Binance USD).
  2. Obtain Tiny Heroes with higher rarity. So they have more powerful, can mine more crypto for longer hours.
  3. Level your characters up by consuming existing characters of high rarity. The higher the rarity, the higher the levels of your new characters.

The main stats on heroes are:

  • Levels, which determine which items you can use, maps that you access, amounts you can farm
  • Power, which dictates how much TINC (the native crypto of Tiny World, which you can sell for profit) you can mine every day
  • Energy, which denotes how many days your hero is allowed to mine when putting it in NFT farming mode

We’ve also got to deal with classes here as there are several main types of heroes in the game: Thief, Swordsman, Shaman are just some of them. Depending on what your goal is, you want to assemble your team based on type and rarity.

A typical campaign has a player:

  1. Choosing a character and obtaining materials through Combat and Expedition, and selling all these to obtain even more BUSD.
  2. Earning TINC rewards from various activities.
  3. Entering special game events to earn more TINC.

If you want to play Tiny Kingdom, each campaign allows one of each type of character. Therefore, when you choose your team, you should be prioritizing diversity and get one of each type.

If you want to level characters up, you need to consume characters of the same rarity. So if you wanted to level up your SR Tiny Hero, you would need to sacrifice another SR Tiny Hero.

If your goal is to optimize NFT farming, you want to get characters in the same collection, meaning characters should have the same rarity.

Tiny World Growing its Player Count Throughout 2022

Tiny World started out in March 2022 and hosted an impressive number of over 5,000 players. Despite the crypto winter we’re facing, they’ve actually managed to grow these numbers. DappRadar in October recorded over 21,000 active users completing over 25,000 transactions, giving the game a leg up to enter the top 10 of Binance Smart Chain apps.

It has even recently overtaken other power games like Mobox NFT Farmer, Sunflower Land, Pegaxy, Bomb Crypto and others.

In summary, Tiny World is an NFT game that offers a mix of quests, staking, NFTs, and DeFi, and has an internal market for trading and staking NFTs. The game itself doesn’t really offer any new or interesting premise, but with tens of thousands of active players performing active transactions daily, Tiny World is definitely a game worth checking out for P2E enthusiasts!
